Mary A. Brown, simply known as Mary B., is the proprietor of Mary B. Photography and Design. As a 20-year veteran of design and photography, Mary B. has photographed numerous celebrities including super models Tyson Beckford and Naomi Campbell, and rapper/mogul Curtis “50 Cent" Jackson. As a previous art director and designer at Black Enterprise magazine, she has managed hundreds of cover photo shoots including those of Oprah Winfrey, tennis pro Venus Williams and Bishop TD Jakes.

In 2011, Mary B. began dedicating her skills and talents to capturing the enjoyable moments of everyday life, making all of her subjects feel like celebrities. Since then, she has photographed a wide range of weddings, family portraits, anniversaries and other special occasions.

Working as a freelance photographer she has covered President Baraka Obama, Rev. Jesse Jackson and Newark Mayor Ras J. Baraka. Aside from Black Enterprise Magazine, her work as been published in Wine & Spirits magazine and Jet magazine.

A graphic design professor at New York City College of Technology, CUNY, Mary B. is an expert in Photoshop and InDesign. She has taught a variety of courses including Publication Media, Digital Imaging, Foundations of Graphic Communications and Photography for Design & Graphic Arts.

She began her formal artistic training at the High School of Music and Art in New York City, where she studied fine arts. She continued her studies of graphic design and photography at the Fashion Institute of Technology and also received a degree from Brooklyn College in English.
